For good

Famous last words of a professional theatre critic, Ben Brantley (October 31, 2003):

“Wicked” does not, alas, speak hopefully for the future of the Broadway musical.

Blake Lively has come out with organic, gluten free, fair trade, free range ketchup. It would make more sense for film stars to come out with their own line of designer botox.

The price of contemporary criticism: I enjoyed Thomas the Tank Engine, especially when Ringo the Beatle served as train master of sorts. But according to the new critical theory, I’ve imbibed a lot of neo-liberal claptrap about hard work along the way to jouissance. And the absence of any recognition of intersectionality in the programme has damaged my soul.
