Ring-a-ring o’ roses

Jerry Falwell Jr is a convenience store Christian.

The Boston Tea Party would be labeled fascist by today’s right and neoliberal/cultural appropriationist by today’s left.

Re Harris and Biden:

Busing (federally mandated or not) isn’t one that will flip the Senate or win Ohio, PA, and Wisconsin for Democrats. I can’t think of anyone who even talks about busing anymore. It is juicy journalistic clickbait though.

Integration (which is the point of busing) was deemed illegitimate during the rise of multiculturalism and the emphasis on difference in the 1980s/90s. It seems to be an odd issue to revive just for the sake of sticking it to Biden.

Busing has no political relevance today unless one of the Dems is pushing it (and I believe none of them are).

The problem for Harris is that Booker is riding her coattails on this issue and won’t let it die (even if Harris moves on from it).

However, Booker isn’t getting a bounce in poll numbers from his kerfuffle with Biden (his campaign barely has a pulse). Probably needs to shift tactics and targets.

Since Biden’s “bipartisanship” led to this dispute, one should note that it is a dead virtue because (1) right-wingers are no longer in the Democratic Party (see Robert Byrd, segregationist) and (2) it was easier to be bipartisan in the era of earmarks (which the GOP controlled Senate has banned under the influence of the House “Freedom Caucus”).

Jacobin Magazine says AOC is August Bebel 2.0.

Electoral college math suggests the election will be won or lost in Wisconsin, Michigan, PA, and Ohio, not Queens, NY.

Most NY Times pundits don’t do research and rely on projection and innuendo. One sees it in Stephens, Brooks, Bouie, and Dowd (to name a few).
