Back in mid-summer, FiveThirtyEight was the first political site to note the absence of diversity in Mr Sanders’ demographics. It will likely be his downfall.
Why? It is likely that his class-centric policies don’t resonate well. He spends too much time talking about the economic base and too little time talking about the superstructure. Mr Sanders hasn’t yet adapted to the new (or not so new) post-1960s world of cultural politics.
